Which DC Subs

Big 3 upgrade, all wire is 0gauge, I didnt do any battery or alt upgrades yet.

I wasnt planning on it for this build, and yes I know running 2k off my stock alternator is asking for alot, I might have to buy a battery or do you think i would be alright for now?

i ran like 1.3k each to 2 level 3's for about 3 days, took like 30 minutes of straight poundin to get smelly..and coils still look fine lol

c'mon now, if i was shooting an 8 year old, it wouldnt be MY 8 year old.

i recently got a Pyle PL1590BL and i was building an enclosure for it tuned to 25 hz. i didn't have any tools to cut a circle so i hit it with a big hammer.

2000 on a stock alt is asking for alot. You would definitly get some voltage drop. And adding a second battery only stressing the alternator more. Alternator first, then batteries. You dont need a massive alt. Maybe around 180 amps? Anyone agree?

I know this is a stupid question and ill prob get shit for saying this but I have a 4farad capacitor that I can use, do they even make a difference?

Capacitors are along the same lines as batteries. They only put more stress on your alternator so they can actually hurt you. Like I said, alternator first, then batteries.

I just replied to your pm. For what you are wanting to do I would go with the 3 Level 3 10s on a 2k. They will handle the 2k just fine.

As long as you build the box right I dont see that being a problem.

The DC site says level 3's are 600 watts RMS and 1200 watts peak. I would say you should be ok running 850 RMS IF your smart about it. Hows your electrical?

How does adding a second battery stress the alt more??? I had no problems running 4 XS D3100s with a stock 120amp alt in a mini van.

Stay away from caps. You will get WAY more performace from an additional good battery. I am running a 2k and 175.4 in my car on a stock alt with a XS 3400 up front and 375 in the back.

What do you mean by clean power?

Like make sure my amp is adjusted right with an o-scope and my gains and everything

Yea thats not a problem at all ..

I can easily adjust it I have a volt meter and an o scope available ..

So how bad would u guys rag on me for putting a Hifonics HFI2000 on the 3 10" since I can get it for less than $100 bucks
