Just clamp one lead going to one of the coils but it will be DC current, then measure voltage, then since it is a DC push pull, both sides will be equal(both coils) multiple that number by 2. That is your real constant power. That power would be 5000 watts on that one coil, then other coil will be the same, so 5000 x 2 = 10000 watts. bkolfo4 Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 Only problem is that it is not a constant DC current. It is switching on and off and the output is shorted while it is off. Some DMMs may not pick that up correctly. What would happen if you clamped the positive from each output at the same time with the meter on AC? Should capture the AC current, since the meter does not know you have two wires in the clamp. . .
