More runs FTW?

I am powering a Sundown 4500D amplifier.

My electrical will consist of a Mechman 220A alternator, two XS D3100 battery's, one XS D2400, and a ton of Stinger 1/0 HPM wire.

I was going to do 2+ and 2- runs from the front battery to the back battery.

But since the firewall is a pain in the aft end I am going to have the geek squad do it, since they are liable if they mess up my car.

So why not make it more hell on their part and make them do 3+ and 3- from the front battery to back battery?

Is there a pretty decent benefit towards doing an extra + and - run or is it not worth the extra length used up in wire?

I have 100' so I have plenty to go around.

More runs is never a bad thing. With that many runs, they may end up running the wire under the car and zip-tying it up along the frame, then bringing it back into the car wherever the batteries are going to go. If they go this route, you may want to ask them to run it in a PVC pipe or something to protect the wire. Because I highly doubt they'll try to stuff 6 runs of 1/0 through the firewall.

Honestly, 2 runs should be fine and I'm glad you decided to also run negative runs. 3 isn't "overkill" but you probably will only see marginal benefits.

Yeah I don't want to run the wire underneath the vehicle. For some reason I just like the idea of all the components being inside my nice dry car (OCD).

It would be pretty entertaining trying to watch them stuff 6 runs through, I'd imagine there would be a lot of frustration involved.

I believe the 2+ and 2- runs will be sufficient.

I hope they will be able to stuff the 4 runs as it is through the firewall.

I have the appointment March 20th so I will let you know how it goes.

I have an Envoy (mid sized SUV) and I only did my 2 power runs through the firewall. My 2 ground runs which just got done recently I found a rubber grommet in the floor right in front of the driver seat. Dropped it down there and then ziptied it along the frame up to the engine bay about 4 ft. Don't be surprised if all the wire isn't run through the firewall, for most people doing 1 run is a bitch let alone 2, 4, or 6.

If you're bringing in your own wire and asking best buy to do it then putting your amp in I really doubt they will cover or warranty any of their work for running power wire. Best bet is honestly PVC and run it under the car. It'll actually sound better too because you won't have 4-6 runs of power wire in the cabin with your speakers/speaker wire or signal cables. Just my 2c though.
