RAM_Designs Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 Should i center the sub on the face or does it make a difference You typically want it as far away from the internal port opening as possible. lifted_silverado Posted March 13, 2011 Author Report Posted March 13, 2011 Ok so im gonna mount it on left center as far from the port as possible. I just have a few more pieces to cut and then its glue and screw time Everythings in the attic or garage since the truck was sold last year. New build should be coming soon in a dodge cummins
lifted_silverado Posted March 13, 2011 Author Report Posted March 13, 2011 On the port it says 16.5" down and 8" for the L thats only 24.5" of port it says i need 26" for 33hz how bad will this throw off the tuning? Should i just add the extra 1.5" between the 2? Everythings in the attic or garage since the truck was sold last year. New build should be coming soon in a dodge cummins

RAM_Designs Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 Whatever you do, don't build the box the guy posted, the port measurements are not right...you'll end up with a skinnier port after the 90° turn. Also, the sides are not going to be the same measurements the way he has the rest of the box laid out. This is why you need to properly use a 3d program like SketchUp to correctly lay everything out. lifted_silverado Posted March 13, 2011 Author Report Posted March 13, 2011 I've already cut everything to length!! Damnit!! What can i do to make those measurements work? I really dont wanna waste all the wood i cut i really cant afford to buy more and start over Everythings in the attic or garage since the truck was sold last year. The port is the main issue. Make the first piece 14.5"x14.5" and the second 5"x14.5". The box will have the baffle go on last and have it stick out 3/4" past the port. After sub and bracing displacement this will give you around 7.5ft^3 with a 33hz tuning.
