ISO
in short you need bigger power wire. Quote Isobaric - Refers to the practice of coupling two drivers together to make them act as one. incriminatoraudiodp18''
Is you're power wire atleast 0 guage? Because i wouldn't put 250amp fuse on 4 guage wiring it will burn. its actually 2 gauge. You will need to find out what size fuse to use with 2 gauge. Its fairly rare so I don't know what size to use with 2 gauge. 4 gauge takes a 125 to 150 amp and 0 gauge is usually rated for a 300 amp fuse. 2 gauge would be somewhere in the midde of that range. alright, well i already bought 20 feet of 2 gauge so i ges its gona have 2 work lol Quote incriminator audio death penalty 18' dual 1.6 to be exact. hifonics brz2400.1 wired 2 .8 ohms. hifonics hfi 100.4 mids and highs. hifonics zeus 6.5 separates 11mm tweets. 3 300 amp fuses, 0 gauge wire. yellow top optima in front and back. alpine head unit. bignickk
Fuse to the wire's current capacity, not the amps. X2. a fuses job to to prevent the wire from heating up. and catching fire etc. are you running 2 gauge to a distro block? and whats the wires rated amps it can carry. ISO
Fuse to the wire's current capacity, not the amps. Finally, read this entire thread waiting to see if anyone would say this or not LOL. When you are fusing for the big 3 yes but for the run going back to the amps I don't. I like just a little head room. At the end of the day the fuse is going to blow when shorted but the quicker it shorts out the better chances of not damaging any thing. kirill007
Then why did you say u wanted headroom in you're fusing? You recomended 250 amps, and both amps won't ever pull more then 200amps, so a 200amp fuse would be more "headroom" If it's real 2 guage i would use a 200 amp fuse. hdorre
To me, the fuse rating depends on the wire. For example- If you have a 250 amp alternator, but the wire supports 300 amperes...use a 300 amp fuse Quote On 5/8/2011 at 7:38 PM, Kranny said: On 5/8/2011 at 7:35 PM, 'Maxim' said: It hurts me inside when I read stuff like this and remember you're 15 LMFAO so true Mitsubishi 3000GT (Old Build) Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: (2) McLaren Audio MLT-2 Tweeters & (4) PRV Audio MR Series Neo 6.5" Mids Substage: 4 15" Hybrid Subs - Tantric Motors & Sundown Softies Amps: Banda 2.4D Amp (Tweets), American Bass VFL 350.4 (Mids), and (2) Ampere 3800s Electrical :Singer 260A Alt & JY Power Lithium 2005 Chevy Colorado Ext Cab Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: 4 PRV 700Ti Tweets & 6 10" Delta Mids on 3000wrms Substage: 6 Fi BTL 18s in a 4th Order Walkthrough on 3 Wolfram 4500s Electrical: Singer "390" and JY Power My Official Feedback Thread

I guess his system will pull around 75 to 100 amps while playing loud music with alot of bass. At the amps I like the proper size fuse or built in fuse. its funny when things short out. all the things I have come across happen in just fractions of a second. I've seen fuses blow in sections of the overall stereo system that haven't made sense to me but most do. You are rite but I'm rite too. EDIT: When explaining on a public forum I guess it is easyer just to fuse for the combined fusing of your amplifiers.
