Rebuild - Blowthru to Walkthru!

Recommended Posts

Valhalla - I saw how much you cut for your blowthrough. I only cut my hole 9" tall and like all the way across the cab. How big was your cut? Did the accordian boot fit that? I may have to do a bigger cut on mine cause my port always has to be really low! Do you have any pics of the original blowthrough? If so, could you send them to me? I was afraid to cut into the large cab brace(ledge)...did you notice any cab flex from that?

My original blowthru was large, about 44wide and 18 high. I do have pics somewhere ill try to find them and ill shoot them to you. The brace was completely cut out and yes i did get a HUGE amount of flex from it.

I was having a lot of problems with the vibration at the headunit. The HU kept shutting off at about mid volume, I could never turn it up. So I have set out to build a console for the HU to set on my tranny hump! Still rough, needs to be glassed and painted, and im probly going to add a couple neat little things to it but heres the general idea lol. It works great so far!

Wiring mocked up, will look clean, not sure whether to run wire under carpet or leave like this. Like this Ill have the versatility to use headunit outside of truck if needed. Hmmm choices choices.
