Guess the amp

Now for the tricky part.

What is the exact model of this amp. There is a very subtle difference between this old school Power Acoustik amp, and a newer model what is that difference (in the guts not in the rated wattage etc..)?

Hate to bust anyone's bubble on the power of this amp but I have worked on enough of them to know it is nowhere near the power specs given here. There are ONLY 4 complimentary outputs per channel, and knowing that the two most used sets of part numbers used by Power Accustic are the (TIP35C/TIPS36C, or 2SA1694/2SC4467) this amp cannot make anywhere near that much power. The TIP35C/TIP36C are 125 watt (MAX) power dissapation devices, and the 2SA1694/2SC4467 are only 80 watt (MAX) power devices each. Just do the math, you can only count the power from the combination of one half the output per side to get the real power of the amp, but lets just count the power of all 4 output per side and if you use the TIP35C/TIP35C that's only 500 watts MAX power per side (125 x 4), but actually it would be really only 250 per channel at maximum. If you use the 2SC4467/A1694 that would be 320 watts (80 x 4) MAX if you counted all 4 parts per channel, but in reality it would be 160 watts maximum possible per channel with these devices.

Go google the part numbers and look at the specs. Even if there happens to be another part number under the pressure clips in that amp that case style(TO-247) of transistor is typically limited to a maximum of 125 watts of output as rated by the transistor manufacturer and that is an "at failure measurement". This is just another Chinese circuit board that is sold to so many companies to put their name on. You have to really watch the ratings put on products coming from overseas, there is no standard for them to be rated by and no rules for it, like there are on US built products, even though the US ratings are getting bad now too, they are still truer than the Chinese rated products. They are over inflating the power figures just to get you to buy their amp over someone elses, the only true way to rate power on an amp is by RMS power figures, not peak, burst, or max figures.
