REaudioBuff
Well i heard a few guys off this forum were making alts so i was just seeing if any of them would chime in. The alt prices I've been quoted on from mechman and DC are just outta my price range. I mean I would love to spend 500 on an alt but damn.. REaudioBuff
Yea that does make sense... but i mean i have the batteries to back it up. I ran a stock alt with 5 batteries on 6k with my last system... Never dropped below 12.0 volts. Burps id hit like 11.5 but i still wasn't stupid worried. I just don't know about spending that much on a damn alt. Guest DC Power Kyle
That powebastards alternator wouldn't even charge your vehicle at idle... your stock alternator does 75 amps give or take a little... the powerbastards would do around 25-30 amps if you are lucky... stay clear away from them. All you really need is a good 180 amp alternator and you're set. I know this because I have that same exact motor in my car and due to the crank shaft size and idle speed of the car you're 500 alternator RPMs LESS than what the typical alternator company rates them at.
