Saleen Focus "Re"Build Log Update 7/12/11 Pg 3

Recommended Posts

Looks great man, I may have missed it but VIDEOS please :) how does it sound?

Thanks...vid is currently uploading to youtube...slow connection due to my daughter watching netflix on the xbox. But as for right now, it honestly sounds like crap. The box is leaking alot of air around some of the corners, b/c they weren't exactly square...but that will be fixed tomorrow.

Ah, bummer. You can always do what my impatient friend did, he didn't feel like waiting for silicon to set so he ductaped all the corners and seams lol.

Bassless once again. Can't seem to keep a system for more than a few weeks :)

Saving for a '06 Nissan 350z, look for build around June 2012.

I actually considered it today. My buddy got some HVAC tape for air conditioning, and he is using it to seal off his trunk. We had plenty extra.

No problem though...a few layers of liquid nails and some sanding got it all fixed.

Okay, now for my floor.

I put down two 1x4's in the floor of the hatch...secured them to the floor with a couple of self tappers.

Then comes for the actual floor...just some birch cut to fit and secured to the above 1x4's.

When I screwed the amp to the box, I used some rubber grommets in b/w the box and the amp for a little cushioning.

Got the amp mounted, wired, and box secured to the false floor.

i think for my next build log i'm gonna do the videos like you..it's a lot more informative than reading posts imo, and how is the btl liking that small box/port on only 2.2k?

c'mon now, if i was shooting an 8 year old, it wouldnt be MY 8 year old.

i recently got a Pyle PL1590BL and i was building an enclosure for it tuned to 25 hz. i didn't have any tools to cut a circle so i hit it with a big hammer.

Hahaha good luck with the alternator! Lol but on a serius note, that focus is shaking! Love it. I got a 2004 Focus Sedan and Mechman built me a 200 Amp high output. Had to get the engine off the mounts and disconnect the transmission, but it was worth it.

Google it

Yeah...there is a special way to get to them if you know what you are doing on the hatch's but its a little harder on the sedan's and coupes...don't know why.

It's doin great man...right now the amp is clamped at 1246 watts due to the fact that for one, my electrical is all stock, and for two, my BTL is dvc 1ohm, and I wan't to run it at .5ohms daily. But once I get me an alt ordered, and another few feet of 0gauge, I'm gonna take out all my wires from my battery, and rerun everything so that I can get More Powa!!!
