Dan208
I'm trying to come up with a summer project. I drive a small SUV, but it's our family vehicle so I can't use the entire hatch area. I want to stay right around 1 cube, give or take a little. What I'm looking at is either a single 10" or 12" in a small sealed box, two 8's that take a small ported box, two 10's in a small sealed box or three 8's sealed. I have a Rockford Fosgate 500.1 (birth sheet says it did 521@2 ohms), but I'm not opposed to upgrading to a larger amp in the future. Budget for the subs is around $200, again give or take. The only thing I'm worried about, at least with doing the two 8's or 10's, or the trio of 8's, is that I'd lose output compared to my current setup (ported 10" SSA Dcon). Any thoughts? zayres29
i think 3 sundown E8s would be sweet or maybe just 2 but the E8s are a solid sub and would match that amp perfect Quote Btw that was the first person. BanginOnABudget
well you could do 2 new Audioque SDC2.0 series 12"s sealed, they only want .6 cubic feet sealed in a box stuffed with polyfill. http://www.audioque.com/NEW-Street-Duty-SDC20-12-D4-Subwoofer-_p_70.html Quote im taking out my passenger seat, battery is disconnected, going to unwire and take out the three amps, take out the 70+ lb box, then the platform so i can crimp 1 wire. Almost as bad as those fegs that put those horns in their grills and roll down the street distorting the block.... 1990 Jeep Cherokee 2 Dr. Big-3 in 0g on Stock Alt. Pioneer 6.5" and 5.25"s temp. until i can afford the new crescendos. Pioneer 6000ub Reciever NO amps at the moment. SA-15 on 1kw coming soon. MSG Me for a free enclosure design!! Flared port kits coming soon!!

zayres29
if the AQ 12 is only 100 he might as well spend the extra 30-40 on the SA8s or DC8s because im sure they will destroy that 12 even though that amp is a little small for either Quote Btw that was the first person. Dan208
I just saw the AQ subs yesterday, but was under the impression (from what I've read in the past) that their subs don't do well in sealed boxes. At least on their website they act like sealed boxes are blasphemous. I'd love to do 3 E8's, but that's way out of my budget, at least if I want to upgrade my front stage any time soon, which I do. Some setups I've been looking at: 1) 2 ported E8's. 2) 1 sealed 12" IA Lethal Injection (or a single 10" if I could find one). 3) 1 sealed SA 10" or 12". 4) 2 sealed Fi X 10's (really small sealed box requirements). I've also been browsing some "mainstream" brands, but don't know if they'd live up to my expectations or not. Mainly some cheaper entry level subs, just for the sake of getting more cone area. I could be way off base with that train of thought, though. ISO
My vote is for 2 Kicker Solo-Classic 10s with .5 to .55 cubic feet per 10 inch SC and 1000 watts for the set. I think you will be shocked. But wait I know everyone hates Kicker. Quote Isobaric - Refers to the practice of coupling two drivers together to make them act as one.
