Headunit turns off then back on

Talked to SQMonte about this on another forum a little bit ago, gave me some ideas. Just want to see if anybody can pitch in.

Usually I can play my radio at 28/35, even though I usually leave it at 27/35, but randomly it will turn itself off then back on (28 vol), I turn down my volume and then back up to 28 and most the time it's fine. Note, this even happens while driving. The other night I was playing with my car off for a little bit and if I put it up to say 25 or higher it would shut off, 23 it was pefect. Song I'm going to use for reference is BigPimpin's version of Let My Beat Pound since that's the song it was turning off on that night, I play it again later on that night while at stop light, at vol. 28 and its pefectly fine lol.

I only get some light dimming to the bass on punchy bass, although I think I reduced that since I turned off the bass boost on my amp the other day. My battery rests at 12.2v, idles 13.9-14.1v. That night when playing it my battery dropped to 11.7 and stayed there, played for maybe 10min more before stopping completely (amp stable to 11.5 but I know not good to run that low). Another thing, my HU does get very hot, even playing a CD for just a few min the disc gets hot.

He was saying it could be a bad ground for the HU, might be overheating, maybe low voltage from my battery (? even though my voltage stays around 14v at highway speeds and it still turns off). I didn't install the system, a shop did, removing the whole center console is need to get the HU out, IDK if I would be up to that challenge lol

mine used to do that when i had it to the stock gound at times, just run a ground to a better place instead of the original one and it should solve it, if not then come back and brainstorm again lol

How do I ground the headunit? I assume solder but I don't have one of those lol
