Neo_frog
So recently, I've seen some debate and problems that people have been having with Jeep builds. I've also been contacted by three members asking specifics about Jeeps... I'm not sure where the problems are happening, but I think I'll move my build from Facebook over to SMD as well. =] So I have a few different projects and ideas floating around, but this build probably won't be completed for a while. I have majority of the equipment on hand, but there's a lot of fabricating and install/reinstall crap happening due to my fickleness lol. So here are a few of the pics of the stock Jeep, then on to some of the build pics. I don't have too many step by step pics, but the work gets done. I don't plan on competing, but I do plan to take it to local car shows and meet up with some people. this is just a daily beater that I want to enjoy for myself. Now some of these pics are what was in it as the build went, but I already tore down and started a new setup bumper to bumper. I had a raw screen I purchased two years ago for the PT builds, but I could never find a good spot for it. I took out the dash bezel, cut it up, smoothed the edges, and painted it. Decent place for the screen, but it's already been removed. First (temporary) box build: Need an install? Hit me up.[email protected]Got car audio questions? Neo_frog
Eight 10" DC LVL4s should do the trick. The box wasn't built entirely to spec, and I have plans for later rearranging the back side, so the subs were inverted to save some box space and test out the Jeep's peaks, and structural weaknesses. This was the original layout plan, but now I'm building a sub floor rack, adding two more amps, and some misc. other equipment. Need an install? Hit me up.[email protected]Got car audio questions? Neo_frog
Relocated the heater controls to the back of the console. It's actually kinda nice where it is, but I needed room for the screen. Here's the door builds. (Sorry for the erratic switching, but it's all going at the same time). Now, I'm nowhere near the best glasser, but I feel like I did alright on these doors. Some steel had to be cut to make room for the sub. Need an install? Neo_frog
Matt @ Mechman hooked me up with a 320A alt. This thing is just insane for power.. Took apart the doors, and continued... Some wires.. All connections soldered.. I know I didn't post the pic, but the wires run under the Jeep attached to the chassis, tthen come up through the floor in the back. Four runs of 1/0 Need an install? Hit me up.[email protected]Got car audio questions? Neo_frog
Now, originally I wanted six batteries, but with the box design and future planning for a sub floor rack, I cut it down to three to save space. Did a temp wiring job with some old 1/0 I had lying around and tied it all in. REMEMBER MOST OF THESE EARLY PICS ARE TEMPORARY FOR TESTING THE LIMITS Nice new alt looks kinda silly on that old engine haha. Threw some fleece on the box for looks and hooked it all up.
