fox_racin4 Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 Ok, soooo my alt. doesnt make any power at idle (425a) voltage drops to 12.7 or so when i stop at stop lights, systems turned down, no bass , will 12.7v at idle with amp powered on (no sub volume just amp turnrd on) hurt any thing? sorry if thats hard to understand...having a hard time discribing what im tryin to ask 1998 gmc extd cab 12 crossfire C710s 4 SAZ-4500s 3 Singer 400A altsbuncha mids/highs Team Asshole

You have a 425 amp alternator? Doesn't make any sense to me. But at 12.7v no the amp will not be damaged. It will be damaged if you try to pull high power out of it with that voltage though.
