ANYWAYS, me and some buddies are trying to build a cooler stereo and everything was going well until we try powering the amp. What we're using is a SSL 4 channel amp, a lawn mower 12v battery and a 8gauge amp kit. the problem is everytime we tried connecting the battery to the amp the fuse would blow instantly. we have an on/off switch for the remote but it still blowing the fuse. it seems like the switch might not be working but is there something else im missing?? sorry if this is a noob mistake but i am a noob when it comes to this stuff

chapo123 Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 no, somethigs grounding out or something. but thats bad to have to big of a fuse.. i remember mine used to pop becauae i had the positive and negative switched on the amp and was grounding out lol Steve I don't know why but everytime I see your new paint I want a Dr. Pepper...... is this normal? heres an analogy for you. running a high power stereo without a fuse is like having unprotected sex with that hot chick at the bar with the sketchy sexual history. korey_hofer Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 fuse on wire will not blow fuse on amp. the fuse on the wire is for the wire the fuse on the amp is for the amp. there is something else wrong. is your switch on the remote or the power wire? it should be on the remote. also make sure it's not wired backward previously known as wenn_du_weinst aka fucking internet coward supreme. I talk shit on other forums like a little bitch and hope i don't get caught out on the street.

Posted April 18, 2011 Author Report Posted April 18, 2011 well one the switch is confusing me. there are three forks on the bottom. one is for ground, one is for supply power, and one is for "on acc" which i guess is for the little light on the switch. now how should i have it wired on the amp? like which wire should go to remote and do i need a wire to go to the power or ground?? and would even having a switch effect blowing the fuse? like if i didnt have a switch the amp would turn on just not turn off correct?? ... time to learn some info:)
