SpartanSound
I'm designing a box for 2 Digital Designs 2512's. The port needs to be 26" and the box can only be 18" deep to fit in the trunk. The port is going to be in the middle of the enclosure. My question is how do I measure the length of the port for the box if I have to bend it and have two separate chambers. The measurements are: BOX (EXTERNAL): Width: 34" Height: 13.5" Depth: 18" PORT: Width: 5" Height: 12" Length: 26"
zayres29
the port would split between the 2 chambers and be half the width in each chamber so it would for what looks like a "T" Btw that was the first person. Ever banned by me while dropping a deuce. Feel privileged
SpartanSound
Oh ok that makes sense. Thanks for the help. One last question... If the port length has to be 26" how long does each bend have to be on each side? Would the length be 13" for each side or 26" for each side? fecupe2001
That´s one small box for 2512´s man, i would have bought a pair of 2510´s and been louder without any doubts, 2512´s sweet spot is something like 2-2.2 cubic feet and single 6" aero per sub or 36SQ of slot port, just saying... RAM_Designs
By the way, you're looking at ~2.4ft^3 with a ~45hz tuning. That box is going to fail big time unless you're throwing 3kw to each sub and looking to burp in the mid 50's. SpartanSound
Oh yeah. I'm well aware that it is way too small for these subs, my friend got a huge deal on them and went ahead and bought them anyway knowing that his trunk couldn't fit them. He has 2 10" Alpine Type R's right now and he just saw the deal and just decided to try the bigger sub. He said it was cheaper to go with the 2512s than the 2510s at this particular store, for some reason. I'm just trying to design the best box that I can for him. Thanks for all the feedback though! It is much appreciated.
fecupe2001
I would sell the subs and won some money already on that deal, and then, buy myself a pair of Fi BLs 10" or something like that, but that´s just me I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains.
