  1. ^^That's a great find, can't beat a deal like that!
  2. 28 hz would rip on the lows, but you could probably be ok with 31-34 hz that tuning would still go get it at the 28 hz area
  3. I see what he's spittin' Accounting at Michigan State Go Green! Go White! Can't Read Can't write (I had to) Ok ok be that way :twirl: haha on that note...

  6. about 7.5 give or take would be perfect. tune to 35 and it will chop all the lows with ease. my set up is currently tuned to 35 and i am very pleased with it. so I agree as well.
  7. for sure a batt would help just about any system. but i would say get a bat and if you are still having problems with voltage drop then consider an alt. but you sound like you are on the right track.
  8. It wasn't from the gains. I went with a friend and we metered two different boxes in two different cars. One box was his dual 10 inch alpine type r's with about 12 inches per cube and then his dd 2512s with about 17.5 per cube. The alpine box was fine in both cars, but the dd box was clipped like I have never seen before. By the way the box was a single chamber and gave about a total of 3.5 cubes net for both subs which is really undersized for those 12s in my opinion. Still not sure what the problem is thou lol.
  9. It wasn't port noise from what I could tell. We put it on the term lab and it put up a 141.2 but the o scope was showing that it was clipped to shit. And we didn't know what it was from so I guessed that it had too much port area and not enough net volume.
  10. How much port area is too much or too little port area?? I had a box for 2 12 inch alpine type r's with 48 aquare inches of port and a friend built a box for 2 DD 2512's with 60 inches and it still wasn't enough. Is there a rule of thumb or formula or something to figure it out for each specific woofer??
  11. It is a 2000 Jeep Cherokee. And I believe an 80 amp alt, but I would have to check to be sure. I'm just about to downgrade from an aq2200 so I was just seeing what everyone thinks about it. Was thinking 1200-1500 for subs.
  12. What is the max watts you could pull out of a stock system?? Stock meaning stock alt and batt, I would have 0 gauge big 3 and power/ground for amp. Appreciate the insight!!
  13. Good to know. I forget where I heard that, but I didn't think it was true lol.
  14. Yeahh these are all good options and narrowing it down is the hardest part! A little more background -> it would be a daily set up. I would tune prolly 35-37hz and it's going in a 2000 Jeep Cherokee. I am not trying to bash at all just trying to gain info... I heard that the DC spider's are made with a weaker material than most subs, thus break more easily. I disagree with this based on how they sound, but has anyone every had problems with the spiders on them DC's???
  15. Just agreeing with everyone else lol. But yeah you will be fine fashoo.
  16. I am kinda banking on box rise lol. That would really be the only reason, but I am considering a 1 ohm load as well. And for a pair of 12s I don't really wanna spend more than like 850ish, maybe 900 if I get a deal on something somehow lol.
  17. I am looking to at all different kinds of 12s for my new build. I have an AQ 2200d and want 2 12s that can take that with ease. I was considering BL's, HDC3's, LVL 4's, 3500's (DD),... I would want a 0.5 ohm load with whatever subs I get. If anyone has any experience with subs like this then I wanna hear it! Thanks in advance guys!!
  18. Not quite sure, but it may be a charging problem. This happened on my friends amp and if you have a low ohm load with only a stock alt then your problem might be lack of current to support it?? Not one hundred percent, but could have something to do with it. How long have you had this set up? Did it just start happening on you??
  19. Pretty interested man. PM me with shipping cost to 48170 if the pending sale falls through. I would take both.
  20. Not sure what your exact dimensions are, but give it 5 cubes before displacements and around 85 square inches of port (90 square inches if you can fit it), and tune it to 32hz, and dude that would get dirty!!
