Im pretty sure something is bad!

Was playing my system on the way home today and started to hear another noise. Thought it was the dust cap again coming loose since i just re-glued it last night. When i got home i took a look at it and the dust cap seems coo. Press in on the woofer and you can hear a "air" noise, then at the bottom of the travel it sounds like a "creak". Not sure what it is, but doesnt sound good at all. Here is a video and hopefully you can hear waht im talking about

Yea i know. I just got it going last week and have been breaking it in this whole week, trying not to pound on it to hard. I scoped the gains and everything, dont know what happened.

Was just watching a video on youtube about how to re-cone a sub. After some thinking, do you think that it may be possible that when I cleaned off some the adhesive from the dust cap last night, some of the debris may have got down into the coil? Could this be my noise?

The dust cap starting coming apart last friday on my way back from work. I ordred a new cap and glue from DC on monday and got the parts yesturday. On my way home from work i was playing my system and the dust cap just flew off. When i got home, i cleaned off some of the adhesive and isntall the new cap, and let sit overnight with about 5lbs on the cap ( about 12hours ). When i went into the car this morning, I heard a little noise at low volume and thought it was the cap diddnt seal all the way. Then today, got worse and now this is were im at. Could it be possible that i just have some adhesive in the coil? Regradless i would have to re-cone it anyways, but just would like to know.

It sounds like something dropped into the coil area...even dust being in there (dust cap being the name) can cause the coil to rub like that. Also putting a 5 pound weight on it may have jammed the coil down and damaged it.
