ok well, i like the idea you guys are giving me, its not overly expensive and i like that, and i've heard SO MUCH about the AQ1200. So if i were to run the aq1200 at 2 ohms for 870 rms to the SA-12. What size of box would be a good idea.

and did u get the sa 12 d4 or d2 coils?

Depth = 6.5"

Cut-Out = 10 15/16"

Enclosure Suggestions:

1.75 ft^3 ported tuned to 30 Hz -- F3 of 26 Hz

* Tune higher and use a smaller box for more SPL oriented setup (Use 1 - 1.5 cubes)

* Enclosure can be as big as 2.25 ft^3 with lower power levels

1.00 ft^3 sealed -- F3 of 44 Hz

* For SQ and space limited applications

website suggest this here^^^^

but i would do 2.00 cu.ft at 35hz and sub up/ port to the back if it is in a trunk. if it is in a truck port up

Haven't ordered it yet, I'm trying to get everything set and then i'm going to order everything at once. But i would get the d4 and wire it to 2 ohms. But it says 1.75 cubes, and big as 2.25 for LOWER power applications. Since i'm going to be overpowering it, shouldn't the enclosure be recommended size if not smaller?

naaa 2.00cu.ft would be great for it at 35hz i mean come on companys do not recommend 10 cubes for 2 18"s but people do it and love it.

and ur not over powering it thats not 870 u can almost double that and the SA 12 would be fine.

get a SA-12 D2 Sub and wire it like this > 1 ohm

http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=1&I=22#results this would give it the full 1200watts of the amp and not peak it or push it over the limit. and company says amp is fully 1 ohm stable.

and the amp has some nice safety features to it and sundown underates there stuff.

well i like the box idea, because your right, not very many people build to factory specs. But i don't think its very smart to put 1200 watts rms to a 600 watt rms sub.
