Nice instal Stephan !:yahoo:

How do you like it with the ports near the hatch like that, and the subs so close to the roof ? I would have been scared for my car !

I did not understand what you did with the Vibe speakers though.

There's just enough room for the aeros to breath.

Perhaps if the enclosure height was lower it would be louder, I don't know. I just wanted to use a big box and with my max dimensions that's we ended up with...

What I did with the vibe speakers? I mounted them to fiberglass and wood baffle that's mounted to the door.

The stock speakers in the doors are 5 1/4", the vibes are 6 1/2". Perhaps I could have cut some of the door and the vibes would have mounted, but their depth would have hit the window when it's rolled down.

A buddy of mine lent me his hyperdynamics meter.

I've read that these meters are fairly accurate to a TL, how accurate? Not sure, guessing within a db or two (at least in the range I'm playing around in).

So take it for whatever it's worth...

Mounted mic on left side of windshield, vehicle sealed up.

36hz 147.75db

Didn't write down the other sealed up results because my voltage was dropping after each run, so the scores couldn't be consistent.

Mounted mic on left side of windshield, passenger window down.

36hz 148.76db

38hz 149.66db

Voltage drop was pretty bad, low 12s, and high 11s for a few seconds.

Going to charge the batteries and do a couple more runs tomorrow, perhaps I can get it a tad higher.

On Saturday I'll be on a TL, so we'll see!

  • 2 weeks later...

Okay I got on a TL a couple weeks ago, I managed a 146.7dB at 40hz, mic on passenger headrest and driver window down.

I had pretty low voltage, I think once my voltage is fixed and amp gain is adjusted, it'll break 150.

But if you guys are doing a 150 with a single 15" then I'm doing something wrong...

I'm thinking about making a smaller box and trying a single 15", driver and port firing to the rear, probably 4cubes net, 33hz tuning...

I'm talking about the The BlackDeath Reaper or even BlackDeath Bass 1 (although my current amp makes around same power as this one)
