is it safe to run your power wire under your truck against the frame rail and run it to the cab drilling a hole for it to go through the cab? or should just go straight through the cab from the fire wall all the way? or does it matter?

Both ways are fine.

Along the frame, a neat trick is to run the wire through a pvc tube & cap the ends with epoxy or something similar.

okay cool deal thanks man, also is an alt that is pushing 145 amps able to run a stock battery and a secondary battery?

If you do that make sure you secure the wire. Zip ties to other wires is best. Tying to a hot pipe could melt your tie=pointless.

I would rather see if go through the firewire because there is 1 multiple locations to go through and 2 less damage done to car.

----IF there isn't a fire wall spot do this

1. Follow electrical wires from fuse box to see how they enter the cab

2. drill a small hole in an acceptable location and place a grommet in the hole (so the wire isn't stripped by the sharp cut)

Ive seen installs where its run below the car and over time the wire becomes slack which is very hazardous and ugly.

Also the hole you drill on the underbody is more likely to accept the entrance of road debris/liquid =

Id stick to running it through the fire wall

i have 1/0 running under both my trucks and ziptied to the frame rail, never had any problems!

just make sure they are ziptied tight! also use a grommet for where the wire enters the cab

thats exactly what i was gna do, i just needed some opinions on it cause ive never seen it done before and was just curious how it would work

also, make sure the wire is tucked away so nothing can fly up and hit it.
