ugpbmx
still even the know its 90 bucks but really whats the better investment.. And just a Fyi.. if you kill an optima red top and try to get it warrantied make sure you are 100% sure they are going to honor it.. I had one in my maxima and i killed it and they wouldnt give me another one with out i wanna say 50 bucks on my part.. and my battery was 160 already.. so they warranty isnt all its cracked up to be yea, I agree that i would save up and get the xs. I just got mine for a starter batt. I needed the higher CCA. the place were I got my redtop does a one year no questions asked replacement, and a life time 50.00 replacement. I was able to find a good deal on a battery that fit my application. I wouldnt reccomend the red top for audio though. just for starting. Quote MY TRUCK BUILD - 1976 F-100 Ranger. Sammitch0
so... you order online? $180 + free shipping for a XS1200. and you HARDLY need a D3200 unless you're running like 3kwrms. They rate the 1200 @ 1500watts. Azagtoth502
From Optimas website RedTop: Use this for normal engine starting where an alternator immediately monitors the state of charge and provides energy to the battery whenever it is needed. This would describe most stock vehicles. Automotive and RV under-hood starting Heavy equipment where starting is the primary function Diesel powered vehicles with no aftermarket electronics YellowTop: Use this when electrical loads are higher than average, or when the discharge cycle is more than typical engine starting, such as vehicles without alternators. This also includes vehicles with significant electrical loads that may exceed the average alternator output (for example aftermarket audio system, GPS, chargers, winch, snowplow, inverters, drag cars). This can also include vehicles that have a lot of electronics from the factory, such as a minivan with power sliding doors and a DVD player, especially if the DVD player is used when the engine isn’t running. Racing vehicles without a charging system (alternator or generator) Dedicated drag racing vehicles Diesel powered vehicles with aftermarket electronics Car audio/video applications exceeding 250 watts over the OE system Vehicles or heavy equipment with inverters, hydraulics, winches or other accessories Electric vehicles BlueTop: The BlueTop starting battery (dark gray case) is to be used when a dedicated starting battery is required and it should never be used for cycling duty. The dual purpose BlueTop (light gray case) can be used for both starting and deep cycling; it is a true deep cycle battery with extremely high cranking power. Trolling motors, marine applications with heavy electrical accessories and RVs should use a dual purpose BlueTop (which is both a starting and deep cycle battery) Use a BlueTop starting battery for marine applications and RVs when the battery’s only function is engine starting Note: The difference between BlueTop and YellowTop deep cycle batteries is that BlueTop batteries have both automotive (SAE) posts and threaded posts, while YellowTops (other than D31T) only have SAE posts. If you ever get confused on the color tops just remember: if it has a dark gray case then it is a starting battery; if it has a light gray case then it is a deep cycle (dual purpose) battery. NightmareImpala
If u have the $ and want a superior battery performance then go with xs power batteries. If you choose optima then go with a yellow top. I have a yellow top and a xs power d3400 and you cant go wrong with either. Just depends on your electrical demands. I will be getting another d3400 as soon as I can to replace the yellowtop so my batteries match lol Quote TEAM DISTANT THUNDER

Quiet
Go yellow top. Seems like hell trying to get an XS where you are. Unless you are counting every little db, get the optima now. The red top won't give you much reserve like the yellow top. The yellow is like a deep cycle/starting hybrid type battery so you get better performance when your alt can't keep up. The blue top isn't really good to run with an alt in a car, but on a boat it's fine. Quote 2007 Pacifica Rebuild. Less quiet. Still not loud.
