bassrace
Well i just made my new box the other day its for two HDC3 12s its tuned to 33 hz. Ok all my sides are flush on the box that is not my problem. The problem is that my seals on my box are breaking and im starting to get that wood slappin sound. I put 1 1/2" nails around it when i was glueing everthing together. What can i do to seal it back and stop this noise without taking my new box apart. Oo BTW AQ designed the box so nothing is wrong with the design the glue just didnt hold Quote 145.9@40hz 145.3@34hz big 3 X2 group 34 Deka Group 31 All 0/1 awg jl meta wire Alpine CDA 7894 Orion HCCA D5000 2 AQ HDC312's Crunch gpv1100.2 (for 6.5"s only) AQ pro audio 6.5" - 3 sets AQ supertweeters - 2 sets 2000 Slamry
Supercharged DCs
What glue were you using? I've never had a problem with glue not holding. Quote Bassless once again. bumonskateboard6
Titebond II or Titebond III wood glue is what you should use. Also what type of nails did you use? They should be brad nails. Supercharged DCs
If the seal keeps breaking, then it's time for a new box. Quote Bassless once again. Quiet
If you don't want to take it apart, you could pre-drill and use sheetrock screws, I guess. x2 on the Titebond, it's bond is stronger than the MDF. I don't see that you even really have a choice, since it's probably not feasible to take it apart anyway. Most likely you'd damage the MDF removing the liquid nails. Quote 2007 Pacifica Rebuild. Less quiet. Still not loud.
Supercharged DCs
Well try fitting some glue inside the cracks, g some 1 5/8" coarse Drywall screws, silicon the all edges and hope for the best.
