Coaxial or component

Which is Better Coaxial or component speakers, and for prefernce I am refering to just 2 way coaxial and component speakers

Too many variables to count here. We talking a $100 set of coaxials vs a $400 component set? But normally, a quality set of components > coaxials. Being that they are of equal level gear that are comparable to eachother.

Most coax's from mainstream companies tend to suck, you have to go pretty highend in a coax to get anything decent sounding.

Comps on the other hand are the best way to go and you can get some really good ones relatively inexpensively if you know where to look and what to look for.

Researching is your friend, try and find places where you can listen to them if at all possible and also spend time in the SQ section reading all the posts in there on the various topics to help guide you along.

Comps are generally better quality than coax but coax are cheaper and easier to install.

Nothing wrong with that. At the show yesterday, majority of the coax were sounding better than the comps. Guys had these insane loud stereos and the comp where making that nasty screeching noise. The coaxes I heard didn't do that, but this suburban had some coaxes that appeared to have carbon fiber cones (could be right with the coaxes costing more).
