Sammitch0
So I built a 27hz 6.8cft box for my 18, didnt change any of the amp settings and it just sounds weak it hits lows NICE moves a lot of air and flexes a lot but doesnt sound audibly loud. Should I aim for 6cft @ 34hz? k3n12ock
It's because you tuned it 27hz Quote 05 xB - (2) EVIL 18s - (2) BC3500s - NO WALL Channel 1: http://www.youtube.com/k3n12ock Channel 2: http://www.youtube.com/MrK3n12ock2
Sammitch0
I figured just wanted to know if 34hz would be a good medium (tried 35hz before wasnt extremely happy with lows) Quote Grand Cherokee Team Backwoods Bumpers DC 15" Level 3's /w 4 Coils Pioneer deh4200ub Pioneer 3-ways Pioneer Tweeters Pioneer GM-D9500F Audiopipe 1500.1D @ 14.4v Clarion Equalizer Knuconeptz Kollosus 0ga Knuconpetz Kollosus 4ga Coming Soon: 270xp / xs1200
n8ball2013
do you listen to a lot of decaf and the slowed down music? If not there is no reason to tune that low. people think its cool to shake things and all that but its not very accurate for music. I have never tuned anything lower than 33 hz. its just me. I dont see the need for the low low low tuning since oyu are going to peak where there is not a ton of music that plays that low. k3n12ock
Tune to 33hz. That's pretty good if you listen to a lot of rap. My box right now is tuned to just about 35hz and it's not bad on the lows. It could be you don't have enough port area? Sammitch0
could be right my dudes... thanks n8 glad we could put differences aside You're right I must have tuned wayyy too low I have PLENTY of port area now haha. I think I'll do 32 or 33hz @ 6cft. Should this hit the lows about as good as it does now AND hit highs or is 32hz STILL too low? and yes I listen to tons of decaf but even decaf doesnt sound loud anymore. Only REAL low songs sound good any song with a mid/high is barely loud. n8ball2013
you might just be used to it. It happens more than you realize. try riding around with the volume down for a day or two and see what happens. Its why guys like Steve and DJ and those guys that are kissing 160 can sit in there cars while everyone else is jumping out.
