Moofs
I have an amp that does 70 watts at 4ohms. and 120 at 2 ohms. I plan to buy some coaxial and these JBL P662's look perfect. They are rated at 75 rms at 2 ohms though. Am I gonna blow these even with the gains set low? Thats 45 rms over the suggested. I'm getting help with the install but I don't have an O-scope to tune with, only by ear. So can I run these safety by turning the gains down? Or will these eventually blow? Skullz
Sonicelectronix shows them able to handle 75w rms so you should be fine on that power. EDIT: Provided you aren't going to play them really low they should be good for now, just lower your bass a bit on them. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2

I mean for door speakers I usually have the setting at zero or 1-2 for bass. Guest
the gain is the determinant on how much power the amp will output.

tonedeaf
Is your amp bridgeable? I'd bridge it and run them at 4 ohms.
Moofs
it is but it doesn't help my over powering problem. they will still each get 120 watts. does anyone have suggestions for other coaxials? 70 rms at 4 ohms and 120 rms at 2 ohms. 100$ budget.
