So, I think my alternator quit on me. I was driving and my head unit was bugging out. It would not play sound and the would shut off. I thought it was a loose wire. But later on, all my electrical was bugging out. Then about 2 minutes later the car died. I tried to restart it but nothing. Luckily it died near a parking lot. I pushed it in and a guy was nice enough to boost me. After the boost the car started no problem, then 5 min later (30 seconds from home) the car died again.

Form all the happend I'm assuming it's the alternaor not charging.

I was going to get it tested to make sure it was the alternater. I'm also going to go over all the wires to see if there are any lose or dammeged ones.

Pick up a voltmeter from stinger or something to keep a eye on your voltage. Sounds like a alternator problem though.

This may be a dumb question but I've never used one before. What setting do I put the DDm to?

You can check the voltage of the alternator if you can start the car. With the engine running, set your digital multimeter to direct current (DC) (might be a 'V' with a straight line and a 20 or 200 above it) , and touch the probes to the positive and negative posts of the battery to see if it reads 14.4v.
