Quick Box Rise Question

I already researched this on my own but couldn't seem to find a solid answer.

So, say your are wired to a 1 ohm load and after clamping you measure a box rise to 2.5ohms. This means you have a rise of 2.5 times. Now say you want to get your reactive load lower than 2.5 to get more power to your subs, so you rewire down to .5. ( I realize wiring from 1 ohm down to .5 ohms isnt usually possible but go with it just for discussion sake)

Now here is the question: Is box rise a linear relationship? I.e. would the rise remain a 2.5 multiplier so when wired to .5, rise brings it to 1.25ohms reactive?

I would test this on my own but don't have access to a clampmeter.

The physics behind box rise interests me so this is more just for my curiosity until i upgrade but this could also be a useful thread for anyone else trying to learn
