Tuned too low?

some woofers dont like and/or cant play low

ive seen some woofers in which when a song plays a low note for an extended period of time, you can immediately smell coil

thats why 32/33 i think is recommended for daily driving, because on many setups it will be able to play down to a certain degree below and above tuning

tuning it to 26 hertz, may be too low, but i know BL are nie and well built subs, but i dont know how they like the lows, im ot sure what in a subwoofer is important for lower tuning to be played well

Shit. Well this complicates things then. I think the 15" BL line is rated at 33.1 hz, anything below is fine and anything above your risk damaging your sub, am I right?

They would be fine that low. I've had mine at 30 and 35. 35 is way louder and still gets plenty low in my setup

EDIT: had them at 38 too 35 still being loudest

you can play above the Fs, that is the subs resonant frequency, i believe its the peak at which the sub plays in free air, different boxes allow you to play more or less above and below tuning, sort of how some people build boxes designed to only play one note, and some people have boxes that play form 25Hz to 45Hz, depends on how its built, whether it damages the sub or not, depends on how well built the sub is and its ability to play below and above its tuning

sort of like the FI btl n3, its meant for pure spl burps, its built to be played like that, not built for musical applications, though im sure some people such as db-don (im sure he will succeed) are trying to put it into musical applications as well as have that burp possibility

im nto sure which of the t/s parameters affect a subs ability to play below and above tuning, im a super noob, so of course wait for more people to chime in please, just adding some thoughts
