+ZER0Hz+
Alright, I have 2 Kenwood W3011's 400 rms a peice I have a Kenwood 550 rms amp @ 2 ohms I have a ported box -- i dont know what its tuned to i just know that its tuned fairly high for my liking (45 - 50 hz) Oh its in a CR-V I need to design a new box.. i dont know if i want ported or sealed... My main concern is the power in the lower frequencies (25 - 30 hz)... I had a sealed box, but i just didnt like how loud it was. Right now im thinking about building a 4 ft^3 ported box tuned to 30 hz, subs top firing, 2 6" ports back firing Any comments / suggestions? 95pimpalass
Well it depends on what type of music u listen to. ported enclosures have more of a booming sound and require less power, compared to a sealed box, which has more of a tight sound, and can be built smaller if space is an issue(sealed). but i would go ported since i love BASS. +ZER0Hz+
yeah i definately love bass space shouldnt be an issue, i mean i have no use for the trunk since i put in the subs... i was thinking ported. Is the 30 hz a good freq? Since im underpowering the subs (by 250 rms) and you say that ported req. less power, thats one for ported Anybody else? andym85
the bigger the box the less wattage the subs can take...so make the box a tad bit bigger than recommended and tune to the low 30's (id say 32-34) and u should be happy Quote i likes me some audio stuff... +ZER0Hz+
If i could come up with some dimensions, would somebody let me know the port length? I hate using those goddamn calculators... what port / sub firing config does everybody like? right now port / subs both fire back Quote 2009 VW Rabbit 2-Door: Pioneer AVH-X1600DVD Kicker CX600.1 (Kicker "Certified" 638wrms@2ohm) NVX VCW124 @2 Ohm, ~1.25 ft^3 Sealed box Stock Doors; (4) 6.5's, (2) 4's, (4) 1" Tweets Owner/Founder of RT Photography Canon Traitor who moved to Fujifilm
