i seen peeps line the out side of their boxes in 2x4's to help with box flex. if it works does the whole box need to be covered or just a few key spots?

do you have to cover the whole thing? no but 2x4s are cheap so why not.

People mostly do that for their walls. It's like an external frame to the enclosure. If you can build the frame so that it has support in the middle of each large piece it can help drastically. If it is for a smaller, drop-in style box you'd probably be better off with internal bracing using dowel rods or 1/2-13 threaded rod.

reason i asked is my tfs's are broke in an the box is flexen pretty good on the low notes and dont have the time to tear the box down brace it and rebuild it, but if i can slap sum 2x4's to help stiffen then

Ive used it several times to reenforce the larger panels. Screw and glue the crap out of it. If your box it big go ahead and to top back and sides, if its smaller listen to it loud and feel the panels to see where it would do the best.

Good luck

Does this smell funny to you? Its your sister :roflmao:

its 7.5 cubes inside after displacement so its a good size box. so i could cover the sides front and back, not sure how the top will be unless i can brace it a lil from the inside
