Can I rewire my subs that are currently running 2 ohm loads to 4 ohms so I can run a 2 ohm load through the amp? I don't want to have to send these subs back. I've looked everywhere and can't find it. I want to switch each 2 ohm DVC sub to a 4 ohm DVC sub so I can achieve a 2 ohm load on a mono amp. Then your choices are: 0.5 ohm (all coils connected parallel). 2 ohm (series coils on each sub, connect subs parallel to amp) 8 ohm (series all connections). Lots of people have changed 2 ohm DVC subs into 4 ohm DVC subs. It just requires a recone is all. Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. I have a Focal 600w amp for my subs. Just not stable at 1 ohm like I thought. Reconing doesn't sound like it's worth the hassle.
