The Big Oki
Yes, trying to reach the 159,9 easy BUT with keeping the sound abilities and not using tremendous amounts of power. 15K should be enough. Maybe 18K. Its a kind of self tortering thing, but its my way I have some other ideas whout would bring me to the 159,9 even with that setup (upgrading to 16 Volts) but then its not possible to drive and listen anymore. Or open the port and rebuild it to a pure SPL port, like in the (or MY) other cars. But that all is not an option in that car Next try are the DD Woofers. LAST possible step is to put in all 16 planned 9.0 for the subs. Different amps are also NOT an option! But I am so close that it should work without that. One day maybe, there will be 19 9.0s in that car. But then its not really road legal anymore. Too heavy. Now its at the "border" of legality. Just a little overweighted. (150 Kilos). (2.85 tons whan I drive it) Sometimes there has to be a project what you work on for years to complete it, or better, NEVER to complete it Its fun in a special way... Üüüühh!!! The Big Oki
greaat work oki, would be great to see you use the ddz series be good to see another dd car maybe some good gains. Woohoo, a lonesome poster here in my section There have been some developements what threw me back in my plans. Had REALLY bad health problems with my back (caused by my accident in 92 and the long years of wrong movements and so on). Beginning of year I wasnt able to walk for over a week and had physiotherapie in the last 6 weeks. Its becoming better but doctors recommended me to step back a lot. So no more long drivings to shows (at least not every weekend) and lifting so much weight. Keeping muscles in shape to hold my spine together. Everything looks pretty "ruined" on the x-ray pictures. Took me a month to think about that. But I still find me thinking about this and that. More than I should do. Its just in my blood, that damn Car Audio Stuff. So the health thing, together with the financial situation lead me to the conclusion that I should take at least a break of one year. I will not do NOTHING, thats for sure, but it will be way less than in the past. Rebuilding of the car is restricted to just the needed things. I will not even swap the woofers to my old Emphasers unless somebody helps me on that (but its torture). No more amps, no DD tests. Its just sad. I also "threw" ine of my old cars away, the Ü2, what I will mention in another thread. Its time to make it a hobby again and find solutions to work and earn money. Sure, if there was a company what needs a new nice demo car (but this time with cheap equipment please) I may think about it. Its a matter of planning and I need to give out the heavy work to other people. I do more and more 3D work and plannings for show booths. Maybe I can show some pictures of the last project, if its finished and built. But so far it is not allowed to publish... Well, to come to an end, I will not go away, thats for sure. I just do different things now. I also still have the franchise of dB Drag/Cup/Bass Race for a quarter of Germany. Hopefully the bookings will be good this year. I calculate with 25-30 shows... And if somebody over here in Europe wants to buy ZAPCO stuff, go ahead and dont hesitate, I have plenty of it and can get some more if you want LOL Üüüühh!!! Michael www.SQPL.de Rulez! The Big Oki
WEEELLLLL... After almost a year touching the car...I touched it LOL Who recognizes somtehing in the pics? Not really spectacular hu? 3 weeks before german finals I start to do something. I must say I had years before with more motivation. At least the "World Finals" are still half a year away so that I may keep the 159,9 title longer (counted for one season of course) than anybody else. I dont even know if my changes will work. It all depends if I receive the new subs in time. They are not even sent out yet. And the way from America is loooong... Üüüühh!!! Michael www.SQPL.de Rulez! The Big Oki
Here another update for the ones what are interested (anyone? ) German Finals are over. So far I won 3 more German Championships in ddB Drag Racing, Bass Race and SPL Classics. Unfortunately there are no "European" Finals this yar due to the shifting of the World Finals to March (Daytona). So I guess thats it for this year. I got my new Woofers too late, two days before Ihad to leave for the finals and just was able to pick them up at the Airport and put them out of the boxes to do some tests. I may put them and the amps in for the finals. In tests I was able to put 4400 watts on each sub instad of the 1700 watts what I use now. Also I was able to higher the score with the SAME setup as tat the 2009 finals. The frequency went down 1 hz since last year and I now have a high score of 159,4 dB at 45hz. Bc I have no real competition in Bass Race here, I tried to reach a other number to train that a little bit. For the world Finals I guess I need to do that stable 159,9 to have another chance to win At the moment I am more eager to improve the car with a little bit "tuning" instead of adding more power. I maybe can add 1 more db, or a bit more with still usung that "small" amount of power. (12000 Watts all in all). I still can add the amps later on... Of course, "I" had some fun with the ladies there, as always Üüüühh!!! Michael www.SQPL.de Rulez!
