Yes, tax and reap...off of our own people. I'm sure many of the native Americans felt the same way as they traded possessions and valuables for strong drinks. We should just legalize something dangerous so we could whore our own People out for money. Might as well right? Let's also legalize cocaine, heroine, and the like so we can regulate it and of course, reap off of the product.

Can you please list the dangers in marijuana that are as bad or worse that affects or side affects as RX drugs please? Also youre so against MJ did you know prescription drug abuse is the number 1 drug problem in america?

You didn't rationalize anything. The fact that you're willing to make money off of it shows something about our society. And bringing up something just as bad or worse currently legal that is also taxed does not make it right; it means as a society we need to reevaluate our moral fibers. I can not agree with, "Hey, we might as well make money off of them!"

Not to mention the issues brought up by a conflict between employer and Federal Government (example stated by Dusty) and State and Federal Government as local child care services are stuck when parents using marijuana put their children in harms way using something legal.

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

Can you please explain how just because we already have an issue, its an excuse to legalize marijuana? Telling me that there's worse out there now does not prove your case. I mean...you're implying the horrible drug addiction our society faces, and then propose to make it easier for them to gain access to ANOTHER DRUG. I mean, who cares about the amount of people addicted to prescription medication...because cigarettes and alcohol are so much worse.

Marijuana isnt a mind control drug it isnt in your head saying beat your kids or buy me buy me. Millions of kids are orphaned by many things. A drug habit is just like any other habit, if youre gonna spend diaper money on rims, or you feel like goin to a casino with the light bill money its all a habit people will continue to do these things. Marijuana is a relatively cheap drug also, if your spending every bit of money you have on it then it probably shouldnt be bought to begin with. As for moral fiber i think it makes perfect sense to make money off of a huge untapped market. Id rather see people who are gonna smoke regardless legal or not pay for a greater cause, maybe so many foreclosures wouldnt be goin on, or our debts to foreign countries. If a pothead can drop my gas per gallon price a dollar a gallon on something he was doin anyway i say light that shit up

I feel ya man, I respect your views. Thats about the extent of my argument. I know its wrong but I'm just tired of all these budget cuts, my mom gets her hours cut in half at work and is possibly being let go after 25 years of working for the govt but yet I see no attempts at raising more funds because its just way easier to cut them. My college tuition goes up because more funds were cut from my college. I see ways the govt could make more/save money and I'm completely in its favor. Maybe I'm blind to what I really should be seeing, excuse me for that...I'm young and dumb still. [/rant]

Legalizing it will only do good. Why? It won't change a thing, except for the overcrowding in our prisons, the drug dealers selling to 12 years old kids on the street, the police focusing on arresting people who sell weed. Fact is that it's easier for a kid to buy weed than it is for him/ her to get alcohol or tobacco. Let the government regulate the weed, sell it for next to nothing like cigarettes, and make the marijuana production industry a little less worthwhile for the people who grow weed. Bottom line is Smokers will still smoke, Non smokers won't whether the law is passed or not.

In addition, I'd rather see the millions of tax dollars that is spent on trying to stop the production of marijuana put towards more important things, like the education system, science, technology, maybe the roads in California.

I'd vote yes. Some people could use a joint and relax a little.

My statement there wasnt so much of access to another drug as it was an argument for you "dangers of marijuana" sentence. Im not an avid pot smoker but seeing how it helps my grandmother from her cancer treatment and yes she is dying of bone cancer, im 100% for it when used properly

we could make marijuana usage punishable by death and save room in jails as well

As well as a noise violation for a stereo, we could make that a death sentence but it would be as retarded as your previous statement
