Future build hard to figure out which way to go

Recommended Posts

K, I originaly had my mind set on 2 DC Lvl 2 10's since I have 2 10's and will have a T500.1bdcp as my bass amp. I was doing some thinking and was like, hmm I have around a 4 cuft gross volume max, and the box I just made for my 10's is 2.5 net, and i can fit bigger in there. So I thought Lvl 3's can handle x2 what a Lvl 2 can, so why not just get a single Lvl 3 15 and run that off the T500. When I started to work each seperate build out, I think I would entirely benefit best from the 15 better than the 2 10's, mainly One 15" = 176.71sqin, as Two 10" = 157.08sqin. On top of that, a sinlge Lvl 2 10" is (prices taken out) shipped so in total (prices taken out). I don't have the price of a Lvl 3 15, but a 12" is (prices taken out). the single 15" would be cheaper than the 2 10's. So in those ways, I have more cone area, and save more money. I also thought up a box design for the Lvl3 and I came up with one that works and will fit rather easily. As for the 2 Lvl 2 10's took me a long while. I am just wondering what you guys would think on either of the builds, I know the more subs you have compared to a single can be louder, but with the 15 I will have more cone area. Also the lvl 2 10's Fs is 34Hz, does that at all effect how low I can tune, because I would be tuning my boxes to 32 Hz. Here are the box designs.

Here is the lvl2's, only could get it to work with one normal and one inverted.

Here is the lvl3

Edit: just realized I need atleast 1.5" on the walls as I am using a 15" sub for the one design. So I changed the depth to 16.5 and height to 18.5 with 36-48sqin range, 45sqin port area, 14.95 area per foot, 3.01 net vol, and a 32.53 Hz tuneing, can't get it to be any closer to 32 and stay at or slightly above 3 Cuft. everything else in the design is the same

I really dont think you should be posting prices of DC's products like that, what one person gets it for could be different from what another person gets it for. They dont state prices for that fact, so it dont start a bickering bitch fest.

Too small of space for a 15. Try 2 Lv2 12s. More cone area than the 10s, single 15, and may be able to fit in the space you have.

Bassless once again. Can't seem to keep a system for more than a few weeks :)

Saving for a '06 Nissan 350z, look for build around June 2012.

How is that to small of a space? the Lvl 3 15 says 3cu for it and that's what I did.

Edit: I could do the 2 12" lvl 2s, just did a box for them farely easily, 17x30x16 port is 13.5x2.75x31 both woofers in slot port tuned to 32.12Hz, space is 2.59. 31-41sqin port area range, with a 37sqin port area and 14.34 port area per foot
