Hey guys -- our Z v.2 line is now SOLD OUT. If you have a super emergency need for one I can dig up some used motors from our legendary "sea of woofers" in the top secret back room... but as for new that is it for them! People that have *already* ordered them or already asked me should be good but no new sales will be available unless a used motor will do.

Z v.3 motors are coming in with the next container of SA woofers and SD-2 woofers in ~90 days... we will be doing final assembly here in Troutman, NC for at least several hundred units.

I am pleased with the legacy of the Z v.2 line -- we actually sold more of these than the Nightshade v.1 line (seems like everyone has had or does have an NS v.1) with much more sales going to local dealers and customers outside of the Team. I think the Z v.3 line will be another good step in the right direction for what out customers are asking for out of a 1500-watt daily woofer :)

What new will be going into the Zv3?

I have a few threads on them :

http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/forum/sundown-audio/61361-sundown-z-v-3-prototype-18-free-air-excursion-video.html

http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/forum/sundown-audio/52941-prototype-z-v-3-testing.html

A few updates have came across through the discussions on them.

1) The coil will be an 8-layer flat aluminum coil (USA made) -- originally it was a 4-layer round. The v.2 used a 4-layer flat aluminum or 4-layer round copper.

2) The motor finish will be a dark nickel -- originally it was black paint, then I had chrome samples made (and Russia got some this way), but decided on nickel.

3) Compared to the v.2 the raw motor power was taken back slightly and thermal power handling was increased a good bit -- IMO this makes for a better daily sub.

4) Doubled up flat leads are standard on the v.3 model.

not bad at all, so it'll fit in my rabbit if i wanna switch it up and sell the 4 8"s , now you said a 1500rms sub daily think it can handle a aq2200, i mean after box rise and what not it may not be seeing that power but rather ask the man who makes em,

I don't think the AQ-2200D would be an issue for it... the coil is beefier than what we used in the Nightshade v.1
