I have three alts currently and one had a bad regulator, replaced it and hooked everything back up and start truck and my voltage jumps to 18.8 so I shut it down remove the vcm and charges at 14.7 so I said to hell with the vcm and removed it. I followed the instructions to the letter. id bet total engine running time was less than ten minutes. however long it took me to dial it in to 15.2 cold(im still not done iwth my truck dont need it any higher) and play with it for a few minutes and hten shut it off and move it across the yard a few weeks later. Yeah its all plug and play, There is a plug that goes to the factory plug...then two plugs that go into each alt. On the first plug there is a short red wire that goes to the output stud on the alt. My factory plug is a 4pin plug with only two pins, the center two. The Mechman harness is a 4pin also...but it has three pins in the part that plugs into my stock harness. The other two plugs in the harness are both 4pin plugs with 4 pins... I have no idea what any of the wires do. Doethepaperboy "Bars of Pain" Doethepaperboy "Hero Remix" C.
