i can't wait either lol. helpin a friend with a 2 18s blowthrough so i got my plugs cut today lol. gonna end up doing an outer layer sitting on the wall. rather have it stronger than lookin nice but weak.

so this system is for daily groundpounding. very few burps will be done.

"16 volts may get you more power for a burp, but you won't get more sustainable power. Ask Jeff Rowland. He has a ton of 16 volt batts and he drops to around 10 or 11 volts 3 seconds after he starts the music. He wants to switch to 12 volts so he can have more sustainable power."

so....

4 3500s @ 1ohm.

200.4 @ 1.3 per channel

125.2 @ 4 ohms bridged

if i do 12 volt will be 270 xp and a EA 300 both charging at 14.8-14.9 hot.

total of 7-9 xs 3100s (will need to check if i can fit 3100s behind front seats)

or

16 volt. 270 xp on 12 volt system with 2 3100s. EA 300 on 16 volt system 7 xp1000s.

okay, well i just remeasured the space i have. i think i'm going to stick with 12 volt...can't fit the 16 volt behind front seats. really doubt 5-6 is gonna be enough lol.

lookin like it's gonna be a total of 7-8 3100s and 2 5100s. hopefully that'll be enough >.<

i lied. still doing 16 volt. lol. ill hafta make a few small changes to the front of the wall and bat space in the back but i can fit 9 xp1000s. with 4 3500s @ 1 ohm a piece i should be fine.

you'll get more power on music running 16v no matter what. if jeff rowland was running 12v he'd be dropping to 7v. those 3500's LOVE 16v as well.

you'll be at a much better bl to cone area ratio with the 15's. i doubt you'd have the same problem with 6 15's as the motors has much more control over the cones in that scenario, although that might lower the effective volume for each driver as you'd have more cone area.

thanks for the reassurance haha. actually talked to dj last night about it as well. as much as i would love to do 6 15s money says no. and no more cramming stuff into small spaces for me. be tough getting them on the baffles properly (not enough surface area where the subs would be loading against a flat back wall).

it'll be a while before i can get everything up and playing again but thanks for stickin through with me everyone.

If you where gonna go 7 xp1000 vs 7 d3100, even tho you have 4 more volts of potential to work with on 16 you also have a few hundred more pounds worth of lead for 12 volts. Based on your options I would stick with 12 volt. Pounds of lead per watts ratio you want as high as possible.

1 alt. 9xp 1000s for the 4 3500s @ 1 ohm

or

2 alts. 10 3100s for 3500s @ 1 ohm. 200.4 @ 1.3 per channel. 125 @ 4 per channel. and car.

just going off the 1500-3000(competition/daily) rms per battery suggestion of XS it should be close, especially with the amps at 1 ohm. i've always wanted to do 16 volt just so even if i did drop voltage would still be fairly high.
