Birch is best its lightweight and strong. My box is real light and real strong. Will never build a box out of mdf for my use again. Your build is coming out sweet can't wait too hear it. Is that necessary for strength or will bracing be enough (my baffle will be doubled of course, I'm just talking about the sides)? im running two fi btl 18's and i doubled all the sides with a tripple baffle, makes the box very heavy, but also reduces flex to a minimal. and minimal bracing is needed. head-unit: pioneer avh p-4300DVD 2 Fi btl n2 18's 1 dc audio 5k 1 dc audio 175.4 4 sets of fusion CP-CM50 components 1 mechman 270 amp alt 3 XS Power D3400 80 Mil Sound Deadener by audio technix all in my 2003 chevy suburban.
