I did it cause I was lazy and didnt want to pull my system it helped noise and flex alot but it became a issue in meca and my class so I had to take it off. I did get many compliments and there's a local shop by me were I got it done for a couple hundred. It looked factory TEAM DC AUDIO VEHICLE:98 chevy tahoe 2wd 3-4 drop HEADUNIT:alpine 9886 PREAMP:arcaudio FRONT STAGE:4-6 1/2s selinium,DD component set and 4-selinium tweeters in each door KICKPANELS:jl audio 5 1/4 REAR DOORS: dd components 6 1/2s HIGHS AMPS:zapco 750.2 on front doors,zapco an another 750.2 on kicks and rear doors SUBS:4-ascendant audio 18s with 5 spiders in a custom box built by KINGSUV SUB AMP: 2-dc7.5s ALTERNATORS: 3-mechmans 1- 425comp, 1-smd spec350, 1-270 with adj voltage harness on custom dc bracket WIRE:10-runs 0g front to back BATTERIES:6-d1400s TL results:157.1 at 38hz and 156.8 at headrest score @37hz. STATE AND NATIONAL RECORD IN MECA S5.

Then I just took it back to the guy that sprayed it he said he would do it for 100 bucks I said kool. All he did was cut the length in 3 big strips and peeled it off. I didn't see him do it but it had to be hard. scooter99 Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 Ya know in all honesty, if you're gonna pull the angle brackets, why not go through the work to do what you pictured if that's what you like. Then cut strips of deadener and put between the bars to deaden everything between, then make it level with the bars, and lay one layer of deadener over the whole thing, followed by the headliner. I mean if you're gonna go through the work of stripping it out, you might as well do it right and not go back in a couple different times to correct what you could do the first time. Make sense? Just my opinion, and suggestion. Take it how you want to. I don't think I realized you were not too far away. Let me know when you're tuned in and running and I'd love to come check it out sometime! scooter99 Posted September 16, 2011 Report Posted September 16, 2011 I was talking about the braces, like what you took down from the roof already, and then you posted the picture about the flat iron and why didn't you think of doing it that way. I was just talking about that. Then filing between those with the deadener, and then over the top of it before you put the headliner in. Since I can't multi quote, I love wiring, especially if you're doing it nice and neat and not making a rat's nest! Your's looks clean already. Definitly a lot of wiring to do though, and I'd love to help but even danville is a bit away to jump over and lend a hand. I'll just watch from here! I've heard tig welding is the easiest to learn and do. I'm gonna see about that too before I start restoring my truck. I wanna weld and never learned how. I would buy something line that o scope but I don't have a clue how to set gains by that. I usually go by east and say ya that sounds good or no it doesn't. Also what cm. are you using?
