matt402
if a battery will still hold a charge it should have a low reading (10.5-12v). if its completely dead itll just start at a low number (<10v) & keep dropping.
matt402
Yep a constant 12.(49)(50)(51) with nothing but the DMM hooked to it. So when it's dead, and I turn the DDM on, it will just slowly drop down to like 1? Or how does that work 12.xx with the car off is fine. With the car on it should be closer to 14.xx. High 13s are probably acceptable too. With a dead battery (or bad battery) it won't necessarily drop while the DMM is hooked up, it just won't hold a high enough charge. hey skippiJ....a side question...if you buy another battery for your car which has more CCA than the original battery...woulf it hurt the electronics of the car?? make sure they are wired in parallel... MrSkippyJ
even if it is a deep cycle?? Is the other one a deep cycle? You still won't hurt any electronics in the car but you may not charge as efficiently as you would with matching types. matt402
i just tested mine as an example... resting voltage = 12.63v idle voltage = 14.25v (just a single XS Power s3400 & stock alt) Edited July 11, 2011 by matt402
Supercharged DCs
what if the original was not an agm and the other battery is a agm Then that would be a no no... If that's the case, why would you answer "Yes" when I asked if they were both AGM? Quote Bassless once again.
