basketball_00011
Yes it turns on when the car comes on and yes if it is playing when the car is turned off (i have to turn the ipad off manually or it will automatically turn off after like 5 minutes)it will resume playing as soon as the eq and amps get power...i dont think it ever stops playing actually lol it would be super hard to do if i didnt use the EQ lol it just feel into my lap on this one i think i got lucky but if you use an EQ its easy as fuck lol thats why i got the EQ If i didnt use the powered ipod to rca connection it would not turn on when the car turned on though. because when ipads ipods whatever see power the screen lights up and what not so what that person said was probably right for their set up...but that just tells me they didnt think it through too well because ive been thinking of this for probably 4 months and making sure all my ideas were straight and would work logically I could use the input on my HU but i wanted o keep that open to plug my phone into if i forget to update the music on my ipad and i also dont believe that have a jail break for the ipad 2 (i may very well be wrong im not too up on the new tech) Thanks man! Clears everything up. Now all i have to do is decide if I want a CarPC or an Ipad haha. And I believe you are correct, i dont think there is a jailbreak for the Ipad 2 yet. I didnt know you could get college Ebooks. That's pretty nifty. I think whichever way I go, i'm gonna get rid of the headunit completely and run off a Processor. The Alpine PXA-800 (i think) is getting released to the US soon which is supposed to be a beast processor with 2 Toslink Digital connections (CarPc FTW!) Time to water my money shrub. basketball_00011
From what I've read elsewhere the PXA-H800 is a dud; terrible reliability issues, and the digital connection from a supported HU to it is only used for the CD transport. For iPod or aux in it goes over analog AINet. Plus most of the SQ functions you need you can get in the new INA-W910 anyways (which I bought). Hmmm. Ill have to take a further look into it. Otherwise I could alway get the predecessor of it, the 701 cause I've heard great things abou that. But from what I read in the manual, you can hook up any fiber optic cable (toslink) into it and use it as the audio source. But I could be mistaken. I heard of a couple issues with it, but it sounded like Alpine released an update on it or something. Who knows lol. Thanks for the look out man! Brandon - Bassless since March 2010.
