Bicpens Posted July 15, 2011 Report Share Posted July 15, 2011 Car came with a sound system and had two Alpine Type S 10" which basically got destroyed. (Now ex drove the car from time to time and I guess liked cranking the bass) So needless to say those are thrown out and I am looking at getting 2 new subwoofers. The current amp in there is a Kenwood something something 800watts. I was thinking of going the route of 2 SA-12D2s. Really I am just curious between 2 ohm or 4 ohm on this. I know I will be under powering it but I am looking for a new car end of July and will be taking these subs with me. Rest of the Audio things that came with it stay with it. If you have any other choices for maybe a better sub then I am all ears. Was planning to keep it under $350 for 2 woofers. What I am looking for is some good quality sound with enough bass to give me a bit of a rattle. Did my research and figured the SA-12 would trump the Type R and JL subs in the price range. As far as Kicker goes I'd rather not consider them. And yes I know that I don't know much about this. That's why I am not spending the big bucks to go all out. I'm not too concerned about going under my budget and over bit a bit ($50-100) is not a big deal. I would personally just spring for the SA's. Sometimes they have refurb subs cheap. I'd look into it.
