subwoofer box help for sundown 2 8inch

Recommended Posts

If you are looking for high numbers on the meter with such a small cone area on a big SUV with a single small amplifier wired at 1 ohm , then you are shooting for a very difficult goal hommie, what´s exactly the score you are trying to reach??

Damn! that´s a high goal with a single 1500 watts amplifier with a 1 ohm load and 2 8´s, i haven´t work with those subs so i can´t give you a good input, i got good results using a pair of DD 1508s on a 2.2 c/f box and a single 6" aeroport but it´s a completly different sub, you should wait for someone with a good experience on SA´s to give you a better input, said that, if it was me, i would try something like 1.6 - 2 cubic feet and a 6" aeroport, yes it´s a lot of port but you have small power , maybe a couple of 4" aeroports should work, but once again, i have 0 experience with SA´s so i might be giving you a dumb advice lol

Also, i would do subs side port back on this application and around 38-42 hz tuning since the resonant frequency of that car should be low

Yes he did it outlaw on a CRX, a small box fits better on a car with such a high resonant frequency using tons of power, as much as i love small boxes with lots of power, OP doesn´t have any of those things, that´s why he´s making it so difficult, he´s using very small power and small cone area on a big SUV with a low peak

I hate to jack this thread but, it looks like the op isn't getting much help anyway. So, here goes. I am planning on running two sa-8s as well. I have played with some numbers on Torres calc. but possibly someone with more knowledge can steer me in the right direction before I start cutting wood. I plan on using two d-4s wired to one ohm. I have definitely have 12x12x39 that I can work with but, I can easily make it more or less. I would like it for daily music and hopefully it will be loud as well. It it matters I will be using a Soundstream TX1.1300d to power them. If anyone is interested in offering help/suggestions shoot me a PM.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled SMD thread. Thanks OP!!
