Mecca421 Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 I have built my first budget bass setup in my 96 grand marquis. I'm using a kenwood 9105d mono amp rated at 900 watts @2 ohms which has 3x30 amp fuses. Two 12 inch kenwood 3012's in a ported box tuned to 38Hz. Originally I bought a 100 amp circuit breaker which I installed 1ft from the battery, instantly the circuit tripped when I turned the bass up. It was a cheap brand breaker so I just removed it. My question is, what size fuse should I be using? I have an AGU fuse holder with a 60amp fuse installed now, but I haven't turned my stereo up very loud worrying about it blowing and not having a spare fuse on hand. I ordered some hard to find 100amp AGU fuses but I hear that's not safe due to the fuse holder melting. I've heard people say to just add up the total amperage of the fuses on the amp, but I'm not so sure this is what to do.....I couldn't find this topic so I'm sorry if I missed it somewhere on the forum. I believe your supposed to fuse the wire Sorry its 4 gauge wire, I know about anl fuses but I already have the Agu for now, still wondering what size should I use, will my 60amp fuse work for my amp? The power wire is fused 1 foot from the battery.. You gotta crawl before you walk
