The fact that this alt is setup for a Ford already you won't need a new regulator. You may not even need a new plug for it either. If you did need a new plug it would probably be around $40. Then you would need to get a bracket made so it would fit in your Ranger. I looked at the actual alt that goes in your truck and it's the same as the other alt that goes in a Focus, so you would definately need a special bracket made to get it to fit. I've been quoted by a local shop to make me one for $80. So in all reality I could put it in my car in the stock position for free and spend $80 to get both alts mounted up. I don't know if the plugs are the same for sure so you may need to take care of that, and the $80 that I was quoted for a bracket was by a friend of mine that owns a shop here where I live. I can't say how much a shop in your area would charge you to fab one up. All I know is the alt is small enough to pretty much fit in about any car with a bracket unless it's a ZX3 that takes this alt. And you also may need a new plug or regulator depending on if you have a Ford or are putting it in something other than a Ford. This is why I'm selling it for the price I am. Basically if you don't have a Focus ZX3 it's going to cost a little bit to make it work in your vehicle.
