rickyfromthe407
Ok, so I been searching through the forums for an hour or two, to come up with no answer. My question is, does anybody know if the iPhone 4, when using the 3.5mm headphone jack, at full volume does it distort or send clipped signal? I wish I had the DD-1 , I would just hook up a 3.5mm to RCA cable and test for distortion with the DD-1 and a test tone on my iPhone. But I am wondering if it is safe to turn the iPhone all the way up if you will get distortion from the headphone out port. Anybody test it? Or know anybody who got a presale DD-1 who would wanna test it? inm
On my iPod, I always notice audible distortion at full volume, so I also go one click below. That's not to say there's still not distortion at that level, but I can't hear it if there is. My iPhone 3GS sounds like it distorts to hell on full volume with the 3.5mm auxiliary... maybe they built the iPhone 4 a little better I was thinking it'd be really easy to test if anybody had a dd-1 with the 3.5mm to RCA cable. I know there is a volume limiter on the iPhone though, so you set it to volume limit at like 9/10 and then when you turn the volume up, itll show that its turning all the way up, but it only turns to 9 out of 10. ( or whatever the limit is, i never counted those tiny ass dots LOL ) Quote Current 4 10"s System! 1/0 Power Wire All Around + Big 3 - $140 Rockford Fosgate T2500-1BD - MSRP $1800 (4) Memphis M3 10" Subwoofers 1600watts $300ea. = $1200 XS D6500 $245.65 PIONEER AVH-P5200DVD 7" Head Unit = $430 Soundstream SC-6T Component 6.5" FRONT $60 Pioneer TS-A1673R 6.5" REAR $85 A Bangin system! = PRICELESS! Grey_Fox
Have you ever listened to the changes from the line out port vs. 3.5mm jack? The diffence in quality is huge IMO. If you have a Iphone/Ipod, I'd strongly urge you to get a H/U or cable that supports the line out. When you plug in through the line out, volume on the IPhone is disabled and everything is controlled through the H/U Edited July 21, 2011 by Grey_Fox

My HU came with a cable for it... but I dont think it likes the iPhone 4. I havn't tried it in quite some time. But my H/U has like a "mini-USB" port, and it came with a "mini-USB" to female USB cable. That I can plug my iPhone charger to. But I dont think it works. Once again, aint tested it in quite some time. Louisiana Bass
Yes, he means the 30 pin connector, just use a regular ipod charging cable. Should help alot, if your HU supports it. Mine doesn't :'( Quote N8. No homo...unless you want there to be.
