hrtbrk1
SA 8's dont like sealed enclosures nore will they get as loud as I want them to be in a sealed box can anyone answer my questions about the aeroports? and why should they be external? just so they dont take up air space in the box? who says they dont like sealed boxes??? but aeroports dont need to be as long, and external to not take up net space and it looks cooler than an external slot port..plus less port noise
lifted stepside
Sean over at sundown only. recommends them to be ported and for an external aero. I just mount the one flared end inside the box then the rest just obviously outside the box. Edited July 23, 2011 by lifted stepside
Reilly
Single 12" DD needs to see 2.2-2.75 cubes to be happy, plus port if you like low and efficient. Supercharged DCs
Is the box 1.3cubes after port displacement, or did you design the enclosure to have an external port? Also, I may have missed it but how big is the aeroport, and how long? Quote Bassless once again. lifted stepside
its 1.3 before displacement I did this by accident but now I'm trying to compensate and make it 1.2 cubes by putting the port inside. if that makes sense? and I'm on the fence on how big to make the port both length an size of pipe? I'm not sure what to tune the box to and wondering if a 3in aero would be ok? most i see people run 4-6in? I'm waiting from a message back from sean over at sundown only to know what to tune it to and how much port area I need? unless you know^?
