subsonic filter

Recommended Posts

just picked up a new amp and was wondering what the "subsonic" filter does? its adjustable 15 - 35 hz

This filter helps to cut off or reduce frequencies under the setting. So if you set if your box is tuned for 32 hz, you can set your subsonic filter to around 27 hz, and anything below that will be reduced or eliminated. This helps prevent damage to your equipment due to over excursion etc.

If you've got a sub and the right setup, it allows you to hear the tones in that range. Pretty much, if you set it to 35, it won't play anything lower than 35hz.

Its not that it WONT play those tones, it generally reduces them. It isnt going to cut off exactly on that frequency and below. But it does a great job of attenuating the unwanted tones.

Lol sorry, on my phone and left out a few words... If you have the right subs or setup... Don't try and play low tones with a bullshit sub because it will probably burn up.

Would you like me to edit my previous post so you don't get confused again C-Fizzy?
