Johny B
Hey guys my tranny recently went out so i had to sell my whole setup to get it rebuilt. Im trying to get a budget setup in right now but having a hard time deciding which subs to get. Its either between....... 2 12 inch Alpine Type R's in a ported box w/recommended rms or 2 15 inch Kicker CVR's in ported box w/recommended rms My question is which setup would bang the most? I want to be heard coming down the street and want to shake things up when i go places. Also i listen to hiphop mostly so im thinking 30-34hz tuned for the box. I drive a 91 BMW 5 series. Thanks. Oh also if theres any other subs you recommend for a better price feel free to let me know Quote 06 Chrysler 300 Pioneer avh-x8500bhs Hertz Hsk 130.4 Alpine mrp-F600 2 Dc level 4 12s Dc 2k Viper 5901 SHCA wiring KnuKonceptz RCA's SecondSkin/Fatmat Big 3-stock alt
6berry
i would vote for the cvr's. 2 15's in a trunk would bump much harder as long as you have enough room for a proper box but in a 5 series you should be fine Quote 1999 Audi A4 1.8T::: 4 - DC Level 3 10's in a 4th order Rockford P6002 on Subs for now (3-3.5k coming eventually) MB Quart ONX4.60 for Mids and Highs Boston S50 Components in Front Boston S65 Coaxials in Rear 40 Sq Ft of Second Skin Damplifier Build Thread UBL 1948 Plymouth
mzenon88
Well in moments of being loud cone area would probable be the way to go the cvrs will bang undoubtedly but the type rs are more efficient and there more durable but being loud go with the cvrs and there cone area
mzenon88
Also forgot to mention also you could go with a single aq 18 and bang pretty hard with the right box there goig 320-370 from what over heard
kam311
Ive had both subs, actually I have had a 12" type r and a 15" cvr in the same truck and same power. If you have the power to move the type r's ( a good Clean 1200-1400w) I would definatly take the type r's over the kickers. But if you only have 800-1000w the kicker 15"s will be better. But yeah my type hit harder and sounded better. But you'll be happy with either I would say Quote so far... jmilch
Vote in for the type r's. They are my go to mainstream budget sub when someone doesnt want to consider brands they have not heard of. And ya thats a little over my budget. I have near Los Angeles, Ca so i can get 15inch cvrs for like 70-80 each Quote 06 Chrysler 300 Pioneer avh-x8500bhs Hertz Hsk 130.4 Alpine mrp-F600 2 Dc level 4 12s Dc 2k Viper 5901 SHCA wiring KnuKonceptz RCA's SecondSkin/Fatmat Big 3-stock alt
