captainhook426
I've been getting ready to build a couple of things cabinets along with my new box and some other things for some people. I use dado joints for all of my cabinets and such, why doesn't anyone use dado joints for sub boxes? other than losing fractional internal volume I would think it would hold better than just a traditional butt joint. Just curious Sutton Next time she tries to punch you in the stomach, whip your wiener out and chase her around. Show her who's boss.
skittlesRgood
it would hold better but most people dont have a dado set or know what one is. and ive never seen a butt joint on a sub box fail. the weak point is always the flex across the panel. If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood. IH8PunkRok
exactly what skittles said. butt joints are easy and quick and are effective i wanted to try some dovetails once but my dad said that dovetails on mdf is not a good idea. they work best with hardwood -Matt2005 Dodge Magnum RTJVC KD-AVX1 2 PPI S580.2 Obsidian Audio ST1 Horn Tweeters PRV 8MB450s Audio Legion 3500.1D 2 RE MT 18s 360 ah LiFePO4 BatterySHCA 2/0 155.2 @ 29 hzKicker CVR 15's buildDD 3512e buildMini T-Line Build(6) 8s BuildNightshade 15s Wall BuildMagnum AB XFL 12s BuildNewest Magnum Build
captainhook426
Just thought I would ask. Thanks! Next time she tries to punch you in the stomach, whip your wiener out and chase her around. Show her who's boss.
Forevrbumpn
I dado on t lines, or long ports. Not all the time, but sometimes. I use screws or nails too. not only rely on the dado joints themselves. I use a 3/4"wide router bit, and counter sink 1/4" I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.
